Dear Sims,

I have to tell you about a custom ultralight rifle that I have shot frustratingly for 20+ years, not accurate with tons of custom loads. I recently placed your deresonator 2" from the stock as the instructions stated, and created instantly an accuracy beyond my wildest dreams. From 200 to 600 yards everything within an eight inch circle. The 600 yard group was 4" at most. I was shooting new ammunition so I removed the resonator to see the difference. 18" spray all over the target. Wow. I have two friends who are online ordering several for their rifles. How exciting.

Thanks,
Mark White
Dear Sims,

After having a Double rifle made for hunting dangerous game, I realized the recoil was quite a bit more than I could absorb. I had two alternatives. 1. Sell the rifle, 2. Get a good recoil pad. I chose the recoil pad from Limbsaver. This was a wise decision.

I currently have Limbsaver slip on pads on two other heavy recoiling rifles, and also one of your strap on shoulder pads. I could not be happier with any other product regardless of manufacturer.

Thanks,
Jim Milner

Dear Sims,

Well, the Limbsaver recoil pad did its job this weekend on the Women in the Outdoors' pheasant hunt. It helped a great deal on saving my shoulder. I didn't get any bruising that I normally get from getting too excited and not getting the gun mounted properly. But more than the "normal" stuff, I didn't feel the kick like before - which was quite important to me since just entering the third week of radiation treatment on that side.

Johnny "Dr. Duck" Everhart from the Blairstown, MO area helped at the event and I had a nice talk with him about your company. He wasn't a bit surprised about you sending me the recoil pad. He's been hunting for many years and for a hunting neophyte like me (2 years), it's nice to know there are compassionate people like you and your company who help others.

Thank you again for your kindness,

Dear Sims,

I recently received a couple barrel de-resonators and a protective shooting pad. I wanted to thank you for these items and to give you my thoughts on their use.

The de-resonator was placed on my custom-built 300 Remington Ultra Magnum. This rifle shoots ½ - ¾ moa groups at 100 yards. Your de-resonator did show slight improvements on accuracy. Most impressive was the improvement it made on my friend’s factory 300 Winchester Magnum. It took his groups from 1-½ to 2 moa groups to approximately 1” and slightly better moa groups. My father has a 100-yard shooting range that gets a lot of use by friends who hunt, and I have kept the extra de-resonator I was sent at the range for all to use and compare to three-shot groups made without your product. I think this has made some new customers for your company.

As stated above, I shoot a 300 Remington Ultra Magnum. This rifle has some of the stiffest recoil I have ever felt. Your protective shooting pad has made shooting this rifle off our shooting bench a pleasure instead of a chore. This item is also kept at our range and has seen many users over the last couple of months as everyone sited in for the 2006 hunting season. I was surprised how much recoil this pad absorbed, especially given the minimal thickness of the pad. Very impressive! The thickness of the pad made shouldering the rifle and the overall fit feel closer to actual conditions that are felt in the field. It definitely felt better than putting a sand bag to your shoulder.

I would also like to let you know how great your fitted recoil pads are. When I had my rifle custom made, I specified the incorporation of one of your recoil pads because of what others had told me over their results. I have used other pads in the past, specifically Pachmayer; I have not achieved the same results as your pad. There is still felt recoil, which is why your protective shooting pad is a great convenience, but it is not as severe as shooting a similar rifle with your competition’s pad.

In closing, keep up the good work and keep bringing us products that enhance the sport of hunting.

Thanks LimbSaver,
Ty. Williams

Dear Sims,

Just returned from our annual antelope hunt. Bought a new Ruger M77 270 five years ago. I really enjoy this gun, but the recoil always seemed to be forefront when I pulled the trigger. Wow, what a product. I've used recoil pads before, but never one like yours. The pad made shooting my favorite rifle all that it was meant to be. I managed to “forget” about recoil after the second shot because it was so minimal. Was able to bring down a fifteen-inch horned buck.

Thanks LimbSaver,

Dear Sims,

Dear Sir: I wanted to take a moment and compliment you on the line of incredible products you have come out with. I have now had the opportunity to use your precision-fit recoil pads on a number of my shotguns and rifles.

When your product was first recommended to me, I had to admit I was a bit skeptical, “Could it really be any better than anything else I have used?” I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the noticeable reduction in recoil from other pads I had tried. I had no idea that shooting a .300 Win Mag could be so smooth. In addition, your barrel de-resonator has made my already accurate rifle even more precise. Sims has definitely set itself apart from others with their superb technology.

Thank you again for your commitment to providing an unusually high-quality product, as well as providing excellent customer service to those you serve.

Sincerely,

Dear Sims,

I installed a LimbSaver on my Winchester 94 (.444 Marlin) to tame what was a very unpleasant recoil. After the first few shots at the range, I was delighted to notice that it now felt like my Model 94 30-30, a huge improvement!

It went from being a gun that I could only shoot a few rounds to one that can be shot all day. As I drove out to the range today, I stopped by the local shop (Wild Sports in Orangevale, CA) and picked up another LimbSaver and mounted it on my 30-30. It's an old "beater" of a gun, but with my Williams Receiver sights, I was shooting 2 1/8 inch five-shot groups at 100 yards today.

Not bad for 52-year old eyes. Your recoil pad is a key part of that success.

Thanks, from the crook of my shoulder…

Dear Sims,

Hi Folks: I just want to tell you how much I like your products. For years I have not been able to shoot anything over a .243 cal. Rifle or a 20 ga. Shotgun, but not anymore. Since I came across LimbSaver products, specifically, the Slip-On Recoil Pad and the Barrel De-Resonator, they have changed my shooting so much that it’s even hard for me to believe it.

I recently purchased a Remington 710 which has pretty heavy recoil. I already had your equipment on hand to install on this rifle. According to some knowledgeable people that I know, they said that the Remington 710 cannot shoot under 9-10 in at 100 yards. Well, immediately after bringing the rifle home, I had it free-floated, barrel lapped and polished, then re-cleaned. Off to the range! Only 25 yards available, sight in for 0.5 at 25 yards; the first few were about 1-¼″, then closed up to just one ragged hole.

Now I have purchased a Remington Model 7400 semi and since there is no way to free-float this firearm, I shortened up the butt stock to a comfortable length as I am kind of short-armed. I installed the Slip-On Recoil Pad and Barrel De-Resonator (after lapping the barrel and re-cleaning). At the range, this firearm got sited at 25 yards also – 0.5; to my surprise, the first 6 rounds were about 2″ in and then they instantly dropped into a group so small that my friend and I both could not believe what we were seeing. The last 5 rounds were so tight – they were all well inside a 1 ½″ square area. I moved my scope to center at 0.5 low at 25 yards. Only 4 clicks up and 4 to the right – good to go out to 300+ yards!

Thank you so much.
Your products are the best!

Yours in the shooting sports,
Joe Nees
Dear Sims,

I never send manufacturers emails, but I felt too grateful not to shower you with some praise about the grind-to-fit pad I installed on my old Remington 11-87 (too old for precision fit).

I was fortunate to win a monthly giveaway from Lightfield slugs this year and received 5 boxes of their 3″ magnum IDS Commander slugs as part of the prize. I wanted to try them, but the thoughts from my past experiences with bench rest sight-in sessions with slugs made me cringe.

I really didn't think I'd be able to withstand more than a couple of rounds. I decided it was time to try a LimbSaver recoil pad before making the attempt. I have to tell you that being impressed is an understatement.

Thank you so much.

Sincereley,

Dear Sims,

Just wanted to let you guys know what a great product the recoil pad is. I have a 12 gauge Ithaca Deerslayer II that came fitted with your recoil pad. I took it to the range and fired twenty straight rounds from the bench while also wearing a PAST recoil Shield. The combination made shooting the slugs actually enjoyable. I never thought that I would be heading to the range with a slug gun just for fun. I will use your products on all of my future purchases.

Thanks again!

Dear Sims,

Recoil Cushion Saves The Day! Last week one of our firearms instructors fired his Glock 34 for the first time since he had his cast removed from his shooting hand, which sustained 2 fractures. He called to inform me that he felt a lot of pain with each shot fired from his 9mm.

This morning, I mounted a recoil cushion on his Glock and told him to call me later. Well, he called an hour ago and said that he didn’t feel a thing! The recoil cushion absorbed all of the sharp recoil and he was able to fire his Glock for 3 hours without pain while attending a firearms instructors' class.

The product works great!

Dear Sims,

This is what my initial test with the Bull Barrel De-Resonator did:

Rifle: Savage Model 12, Short Action 22-250 26-inch stainless fluted barrel Action was trued by Fred Moreno of Sharp Shooter Supply
Stock: Sharp Shooter SVT
Ammunition: Winchester (USA) 45 Grain Varmint load.
Scope: Meopta 4/12-50

First of all the scope was new to the rifle. So it took 4 groups of 3 shots to zero the scope. Barrel was then warm.

I made the first-base shots without the De-Resonator (see #1) which gave me an approximate ¾-inch group. This is what the rifle normally shoots.

The second group of shots was with the De-Resonator placed at one inch from the forearm, resulting in a one-inch group.

The third group was with the De-Resonator placed at 2-¼ inches from the forearm, resulting in a Mickey Mouse group, all rounds touching.

The fourth group was with the De-Resonator placed at 3 inches from the forearm, resulting in a one-inch group.

The fifth group was with the De-Resonator placed at 3 inches from the forearm, resulting in a half-inch group.

The sixth group was with the De-Resonator placed at 4 inches from the forearm, resulting in a one-inch group.

The seventh group was with the De-Resonator placed at 5-1/8 inches from the forearm, resulting in a Mickey Mouse group.

The eighth group was with the De-Resonator placed at 6 inches from the forearm, resulting in a 5/8ths-inch group.

The ninth group was with the De-Resonator placed at 5 inches from the forearm, resulting in a one-inch group.

At this point I felt that the barrel was too hot and it was getting late, so I went home and cleaned the rifle.

Bottom Line: This rifle has never delivered two groups of Mickey Mouses in 24 rounds fired using inexpensive NON-MATCH ammunition.

Dear Sims,

I bought a 270 rifle. My husband loaded some light loads for me, but it was still harsh on the recoil. We put a Sims Grind-to-Fit Recoil Pad on it and what a difference! Now I can shoot more and never get bruised.

My 12 over-and-under had a Kickezz pad; it still kicked hard. I put a Sims on it and I could tell immediately how much better the Sims felt. My husband's rifle had a Pachmayr pad on it; it now has a Sims on it. Eventually, all our guns will have Sims pads on them.

Thanks alot, Sims, for a great product,

Dear Sims,

Sims LimbSaver Recoil Pads: The Best I've Ever Used

When it comes to recoil, the fundamentals have not changed over the years. In rough terms, a 10% increase in firearm weight reduces free recoil about 10%; or a one-to-one ratio. Decreasing payload or payload velocity nets you about a 20% decrease in recoil. Whether you elect to use a load with a muzzle velocity 10% less, or reduce the weight of the ejecta by 10%, you'll get in the area of a 2:1 reduction in free recoil, all things being equal.

Over the years, I've used a variety of gizmos to attempt to cheat the system. Particularly in clays work, where the cumulative effects of recoil take their toll after a few cases of shells, I think I've been through a great portion of the recoil regalia. If you are dumb, you better be tough. I went through oral surgery to pull a mass of scar tissue out of my right “chipmunk cheek”. It shows that, in times past, I've shown signs of at least the former. Dead mules may not kick, the product is an amusing noisemaker but the recoil reduction is more placebo effect than anything else.

Mercury recoil reducers do reduce recoil a bit, but I can’t say that they do so any more than one would naturally expect by adding the equivalent amount of weight. Going the gas gun route certainly breaks up the recoil pulse, but changing an action type is not always plausible or possible. Recoil pads attempt to attenuate recoil, soften, absorb, and manage it. There are drawers full of these gems here, from the instant-collapse type that offer you the pleasure of the double-kick: once when you pull the trigger, the other when it bottoms out with that joyous sensation of being pounded into the ground by a tent stake. Some ultra-thick, ultra-mushy pads like the “Triple X” pad are offensive to the eye, and easily take a set when guns are placed in a rack. You might enjoy the variety of a gun that shoulders differently every time you mount it, but I've learned to get past this unusual “variety is the spice” form of entertainment.

To date, the only pad that has done a good job in soaking up felt recoil for me to any significant degree is the Kick-Eez sorbothane pad. It is solid, heavy, but if anyone has asked about a recoil pad the Kick-Eez pad is the only one that I have ever been able to suggest with confidence. Two guns were selected for the initial field tests with Sims pre-fit pads: the Savage 10ML-II laminated muzzleloader, and the Thompson Encore. The Savage 10ML-II is not a hard kicker with my normal hunting loads, but after a long powder and bullet-testing session at the range with hotter loads, I have found myself reaching for a PAST pad or groaning when the 100th shot of the day is squeezed off. In factory configuration, it comes with no recoil "pad" at all, just a hard rubber butt plate. This was replaced with the Limbsaver #10601 "Precision-Fit" pad, and I've never had such a great fit from a pre-fit pad before. Installation took just a couple of minutes, remove two wood screws and screw in two wood screws.

The picture tells the story, I think it looks great. The "Michelin Man" sides of the LimbSaver blend in well. There is a tiny amount of proud wood at the toe area, but it just is not noticeable. The Thompson Encore installation was not quite as hassle-free, as Thompson used two different screws in my walnut buttstock.

Thompson, in their borderline clever way, has made a few random length-of-pull running production changes to their Encore stocks, as they have told me. Maybe they should tell those that try to follow the plotline as well? Though I shoot my Encore most often in muzzleloader configuration, I popped on a factory Thompson factory .308 barrel which is light, handy, and after a box of 180 gr. factory cartridges, has left me with all the fun I can stand popping paper with it. The pictures show the installed LimbSaver on the Thompson. The performance of these LimbSaver pads was nothing short of superlative. In the case of the Savage 10ML-II, it gave me a welcomed increase in length of pull of about one-half inch. As I was shooting it again today with heavier bullets and hotter loads than typical, I can tell you that I feel as if I wasn't shooting at all. "Felt recoil" is subjective, of course, but my guesstimate is that it cut recoil by about one third. It really is a no-brainer to pop one of these on a Savage; an observation for which I am uniquely qualified.

The Encore never has tolerated high recoil loads well, despite its being a fairly heavy gun in muzzleloader configuration. As a lighter centerfire, it does worse. Again I was delighted how well the LimbSaver took care of the jolt, and the 180 grain .308 loads I was shooting became markedly sedate. A rough guess was about one third less felt recoil, and in this case the length of pull remains effectively the same.

There is, I believe, a pneumatic chamber and series of baffles inside them, but dissection was not part of the test. Anything that makes shooting a more enjoyable experience is worthwhile, and I believe it helps brings younger, older, and "prettier shooters" into the sport. I don't often wax enthusiastic over too many products, but the Sims LimbSaver pads are the best of breed and worthy of consideration by anyone who wants their weapons to be lethal on only one end.

Congratulations to Sims Vibration Laboratories.

Dear Sims,

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You from a very happy and excited father. The firearm is a Remington 11-87 with the R-3 recoil pad manufactured by Sims, and sent to him by you for his birthday (remember). The turkey weighed in at 21 lbs 4 ozs. with a 7 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs, WHAT A BIRD :) shot on 4-23-05 he shot the gun with out the recoil pad and also with the recoil pad on it, Adam says that as a matter of fact when the bird came in my buddy Mike Nass (who called the bird in for Adam) said to shoot, Adam didn't shoot, I said to shoot, Adam still didn't shoot, then several seconds later when Adam was ready, he shot and the bird collapsed on the spot. When asked why he didn't shoot, he said he wanted to make sure the sights were right where they were supposed to be, he concentrated on the shot and didn't even think about the recoil.

Thank you again for such a great product, it's a bonus for the youth hunters and a comfort to us older ones as well.

Dear Sims,

Last fall, after turkey season, with a shoulder that said "OUCH" if I even looked at it, I decided to get one of your "LimbSavers". I "CANNOT" express in words how much more fun you have put back into my turkey hunting with your product. I can't say that it shoots like a 22 rifle, but at least I don't have to pick myself up off the ground anymore. My boy does, but what the HELL, he's only 6.

Dear Sims,

I own a Ruger M77 Mark II in 300 Rem. S.A. Ultra Mag. The recoil was unbearable, and the accuracy really suffered because of it.

After seeing your ads on the outdoor T.V. show, I looked at you website and then had my gunsmith install a LimbSaver recoil pad on my Ruger.

The difference is incredible. I usually flinch bad anticipating recoil. The Limbsaver makes shooting the 300 S.A. Mag a pleasure. Thanks very much for the great product. Keep up the good work. (I'm going to get one for my .270 next).

Sincerely,
Capt. Dale Fields
Dear Sims,

I am a long time rifle shooter and have served as a SWAT scoped rifle operator in the past, and have always been very serious about my marksmanship with scoped rifles. I have hunted exclusively for the past 3 years with a Thompson Center Arms Encore in several different calibers. All of my barrels will shoot right at one inch groups at 100 yards with the right recipes, and even with factory loads most will shoot under an inch and a half.

I read about the De-Resonator and was skeptical though I understood the concept of how it "might" work. Well, I finally got my hands on one and slipped it onto a 24" factory tapered Encore barrel in .223 caliber and headed to the range. I was shooting Winchester (white box) 55 grain FMJ's that can be bought for next to nothing and are great for plinking. The distance was 100 yards and it was breezy and about 93 degrees this day. Not great for shooting tiny groups, but I had to try it out. My first group flew into 3/16's of an inch! Yep, you read it right 3/16's of an inch. Luck, coincidence? Well let's see. I fired another 3 shot group after a 5 minute cool down for the barrel and this group went into 5/8's of an inch! Once can be luck, but twice? Another 5 minutes of cooling the barrel and my last 3 shot group again flew into 5/8's of an inch! That is an average group size of .479's! Sub MOA guns are hard to come by and usually take special handloads to perform like this. This barrel would shoot under an inch before the De-Resonator and I have even fired some groups in the .5 inch range but never 3 back to back groups like this! I currently have the De-Resonator on a .270 barrel and can't wait to get back to the range to see what it will do on it. I can't guarantee you the same results I got, but for less than $20 I don't see how you can afford NOT to give one a try?

Sincerely,

Dear Sims,

I recently went to Argentina for some world class wingshooting. Everyone told me how bad my shoulder would be hurting after the first day. I was shooting a rental gun, a Beretta 20 gauge. I bought a slip-on LimbSaver pad to carry with me. I didn't figure it would be much help, but I needed all the help I could get. I had not done any shooting of any kind to toughen up my shoulder before we left.

When we arrived, I slipped the pad on the 20 gauge and went wingshooting. I would not have believed it if I had not done it myself. After two days of wingshooting, my shoulder wasn't sore at all! I could hardly tell I had fired a shot. All of the other guys were complaining about how bad their shoulders were hurting. I thought maybe it was the gas operated Beretta since everyone had said how little it kicked. I took the pad off to see the difference. It only took one shot for me to know I didn't want to shoot without the pad. The difference was tremendous.

In my 3 day hunt I shot over 3300 shells and my shoulder did not get sore at all! I would not have believed it if I had not done it myself. I could have easily done it again. I told my friends a .22 rife would have bruised my shoulder after 3300 shots.

I would recommend to anyone to buy and use the LimbSaver recoil pad. The difference it makes is unbelieveable. I'm not one to send letters or blow smoke about a product. This is the first time I have ever done this, but I was so impressed I felt that I should tell you. Thanks for a great product!!

Dear Sims,

I have been using your archery products for years, and have been very satisfied with them. However, last fall while turkey hunting my Mossberg 500 with a 3" mag decided to smack me in the face and split my lip. I purchased one of your recoil pads and cut an inch off the stock before installing.

I just got back from patterning the gun and had to tell you that this was the best money I ever spent on a hunting item!!!!!! I was so tentative about taking the first with this load, but now my 243 has more of a kick than my newly-modified 12 gauge.

You better believe that before the rifle season I will be buying four more for my other guns. Thanks ever so much for this product.

Dear Sims,

I am writing to let you know how much I appreciate your "LIMBSAVER" recoil pads. They really work and work better than any recoil pad I have ever used.

I'm 60 years, 5'7", 140 lbs., and I am a shooter. I shoot IDPA, IPSC, Cowboy, Sporting Clays, Skeet and "Just Plucking". I have "LIMBSAVER or R3" pads on the following guns:

  1. Remington 11-87 Synthetic stock used as my 3 gun shotgun
  2. Winchester 97 - slip-on pad for Cowboy shooting
  3. Norinco 97 - grind-to-fit pad for Cowboy shooting
  4. Stoeger Coach Gun - slip-on pad for Cowby shooting

As you can see, I like your product. When I go to matches, I talk your product up with my fellow shooters.

Thanks again for a great product. It works!!

Dear Sims,

Thank you for sending us a sample of your LimbSaver recoil pads to test and evaluate on our various shotguns that we make available for use to our clients in our shooting school.

One of our school’s primary objectives is to allow shooters an opportunity to try the clay breaking sport without having to own a shotgun or any related equipment.

Our school offers a variety of different weights and length-of-pull shotguns in different gauge sizes so that everyone can be fitted for comfort and successful use. We have gone to great lengths and expense to make shooting a shotgun as comfortable and enjoyable as possible by reducing felt-recoil. Our guns have all been customized by lengthened forcing cones, barrel porting and stock weighting to the fullest extent to enhance shooting comfort while, at the same time, promoting successful target shooting by reducing excessive head movement, barrel jump distractions, physical and psychological fatigue.

Up until now, all our shotguns have had Kick-Eez sorbathane recoil pads installed on them. While the sorbathane recoil pad was a great improvement to the comfort of the shooter over the factory pad, it can in no way compare to the increased comfort by means of decrease in the felt recoil that was easily noticed in the comparison testing done using the LimbSaver recoil pad. We judged that compared between the two brands of recoil pads on the same shotgun, firing the same ammunition, that there is approximately twenty to thirty percent reduction in the felt recoil using the LimbSaver pad. As you know, this reduction translates into more success in the field or targets hit, especially when a second shot is necessary in the field or required when shooting target pairs in skeet, trap or sporting clays. With reduced felt recoil, the shooter's head is not taken out of position as easily and thus increases the odds of success.

All of the guns that our school uses, and the guns we personally use for shooting scores in competition, now have your LimbSaver recoil pad installed on them.

Could you please let us know how we could obtain LimbSaver recoil pad brochures so that we could include them in our clients' information packets that we give out during our classes?

Thank you again for making available to us the opportunity to test and evaluate the LimbSaver recoil pads.

Sincerely yours,
Tony and Maureen Kolodziej

Dear Sims,

Thank you so much for the LimbSaver recoil pads for the Remington 870 shotguns that we used at the NRA Instructors' Course in Allentown, PA the week of 6-14 to 6-18-04. What a relief they are. My previous experiences with LimbSaver products have been in the archery category and they work great.

Now I have experience in the firearms category as well. During the course, we had to fire 170 rounds from the 12 gauge shotguns. 50 of these were 00 buckshot and 20 were rifled slugs. I can't begin to describe to you what your shoulder feels like after absorbing all that "heavy" recoil from those rounds. I happen to have bursitis and calcified tendonitis in my right shoulder, as well as rotator cuff apathy. My right shoulder is my shooting shoulder, my right arm is a "limb" so I can absolutely say that without a doubt, your new recoil pads are "LIMBSAVERS". They reduced the felt recoil to that of something in the neighborhood of a light 20 gauge or less.

Thank you again for letting us "test" and show your fine products to all the men and women that attended the course at the Allentown Police Academy.

Dear Sims,

You will recall that on July 26, 2004, I e:mailed LimbSaver requesting the appropriate recoil pad needed for our hatchery's Remington 870 Express shotgun, to assist in reducing shoulder abuse for my staff during high periods of predator control necessary to protect the fish we raise for sportsmen.

Within three hours (and considerably after 5 p.m. when most people would have long left work), you responded with a solution and offered to provide the #10546 (Slip-On Pad) and the #10541 (Small Grind-to-Fit Pad) for us to field-test. Upon arrival, we started using the Slip-On immediately and soon switched to the Grind-to-Fit recoil pad. Those of us who shoot a few shells to several boxes of shell each day have had no shoulder bruising, and I have personally not been to the chiropractor since we started using LimbSavers.

The acid test is always, “Would you buy and use LimbSavers for your personal use?” The answer is, “I already have and will continue to do so”. Remington, Thompson Center, Browning and Benelli are my firearms of choice, and I wish they all came from the factories fitted with LimbSavers.

Thank you for the services you provide to sportsmen and all courtesies you have extended to my staff and myself. Please feel free to contact us anytime if we can be of any assistance to you.
